Reaching the River Valley, the United States, and the Nations for Jesus Christ.

Reaching the United States

In Acts 1:8 Jesus commands us to go to Judea and Samaria, and for our church, that is the United States.  Most Christians do not realize that the US is the third largest mission field on the planet.  In the recent past most of the world's missionaries came from the US, but that is no longer the case.  South Korea has now surpassed the US number in total missionaries, and most of their missionaries are sent to the Untied States.  Listed below are some opportunities through Grand Avenue Baptist Church that you can be a part of reaching the United States for Jesus Christ.  If you have any questions, please contact our Mission Pastor, Scott Ward at This email address is being protected from spambots. texas
Fort Worth, Texas - Chris & Cheryl Read are volunteers working with Bhutanese refugees in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.  We are taking our first trip here April 12-14 with another trip to follow in the Fall. Please, check back here for updates as we kick off this very exciting partnership.

alaska
Anchorage, Alaska - Alaska is considered the least-reached state in the entire US.  Brent & Carrie Williams (follow Brent on Twitter) answered God's call to go there from Van Buren, Arkansas, and have since planted True North Church which has three campuses running.  True North is the first successful SBC church plant in Anchorage in over 15 years.  Will & Eryn Cole have just recently moved there from South Carolina to help the William's in their work.  We are excited to be able to partner with this exciting and growing church plant.

We will be taking a team of college students there over Spring Break.  During this trip we will hanging out with college students on the University of Alaska and prayerfully connect them to Jesus and True North Church.

arapaho
Riverton, Wyoming - Sitting in the Northwest corner of Wyoming, next to Yellowstone, is the barren Wind River Indian Reservation home to the least-reached tribe in all of the United States - the Northern Arapaho Tribe.  They are a people group that has unsuccessfully mixed Catholicism with their native religion to create a confusing mixture of ideas that gives no hope.  Drug and alcohol abuse is rampant.  The suicide rate is extremely high.  We have partnered with Dale Bascue and Dean Whitaker of United Baptist Church in Riverton, Wyoming, to reach this lost tribe for Christ.

We will be taking a trip on July 19-27, 2013 in order to host a Backyard Bible Club in the small village of Beaver Creek and maybe a couple of other small villages.  This is a family-friendly mission trip, and anyone is invited to join us.  Sign up now in Guest Services!
